Message Wanted to post up pictures of the various housings we've modified for the V2 inlet pipes so people can get a first hand look at the before and after work.

The process we are using is rather simple but requires some specialized equipment such as a TIG welder and a lathe for final machining.

The housings are first machined on the lathe to cut the original face back 1/4" so that the new flange face will be in the original position. The i.d. of the housing has a bevel cut into it as well as the flange so there is a broad fillet for the weld to penetrate deeply.

The flanges are tack welded to the housing to properly locate them, then the fillet weld is made.

The parts are allowed to air cool to prevent any distortions and then they go back to the lathe. The compound slide is setup to produce the angular cut that allows a smooth taper from the flange face to the compressor inducer diameter.

The face of the flange has a few thousandths cut to flatten out any distortions to ensure a flat sealing face. While spinning, the part is lightly touched off with a scotchbrite pad to smooth out the machined faces.

The mounting holes are then drilled out, tapped, and helicoils are installed for the standard M8X1.25 thread pitch. The helicoils are far more robust than aluminum threads and will not want to strip out.

The face is then deburred using a scotchbrite flapwheel disc and the threaded holes are deburred using a countersinking bit.

AFTER MOD:

For any other type of housing we will be able to perform this modification without any troubles. We can also attach flanges to the odd-ball housings that have the bolt holes clocked differently so you will be able to use our existing V2 pipes without having an adapter plate.

The GT2860RS turbo housings you see above also came with the backplates which are not o-ringed from the factory. We have a quantity of the Garrett orings and have made the tooling to precision machine the oring seat. So if any of you guys need this done as well, we would be happy to do that for you.

We have all of the housings that were sent in to us completed now and will be shipping out today.
